The University of Oklahoma strives to develop and implement meaningful and engaging exhibitions and displays in a manner that reflects the values of the university as a diverse community of students and scholars. Our work closely aligns with the evolving strategic plan of the University of Oklahoma Libraries by enhancing the public experience of the libraries and building collaborative partnerships with other university academic departments as well as with experts across campus. University Libraries’ exhibitions highlight the diverse nature of the libraries’ collections and engage the interests of the communities that we serve while fostering intellectual curiosity that stems from interdisciplinary research and scholarship.

Broadcast over OU’s WNAD radio station, the Indians for Indians radio show aired from 1941 through the mid-1970s. The show was created and originally hosted by Don Whistler, chief of the Sac and Fox tribe, and continued by OU’s Sequoyah Indian Club. The Indians for Indians Hour was a vibrant blend of Native music and speech on an incredible array of topics, including community life, military service, religion, education, and advocacy for Native rights.

Bird enthusiasts of all ages are encouraged to visit the 5th floor of the Bizzell Memorial Library from Jan. 15 through May 15 to view the latest exhibit featuring works from OU Libraries special collections.

Although, the title comes from a 1951 children’s book by Dorothy Childs Hogner which tells of the migratory adventure of a goose named “Wild Little Honker,” exhibit curator, Melissa Rickman, says the exhibit features a wide variety of books from the collections.
